| Amya is a new webcomic which already impresses with delicately drawn art and a nice fantasy/renaissance-ish storyline which is attractive. The comic overall is off to a very good start and its making me really want to read which is what comics are all about isn’t it? Give it a go. | |
| Dovecote Crest is something which will be familiar to re-enactors and passionate small time historians the world over. A rag-tag bunch of people run a small center dedicated to keeping the memory of the American Civil War battle of Dovecote Crest alive. Romance, historical discoveries and even a bit of the supernatural abound. A definite must read. | |

Jackie Rose is a rollocking adventure story. Something with takes Indy and beats it over the head. Repeatedly before leaving it for dead in the gutter outside. Indy never had Nazi robots for example which is only the merest tip of the iceberg of awesome contained beneath yonder depths. Click and explore. I dare you. |
| Red Moon Rising can be best described as an opaque and ever shifting beast of a comic where just when you think you’ve got the webcomic is all figured out, it changes again. The steampunk/fantasy theme is very well thought out and the art is almost dreamlike in its style and is getting better all of the time. A dead cert. |

| Rival Angels is set in the world of professional wrestling. As long as you know that its (mostly) scripted then you can have a lot of fun watching it and this is no exception with some great action sequences, Albone really brings the world of wrestling to comics brilliantly. |

| Spy6teen originally appeared on Zuda.com and competed well with lots of good feedback. The fruit of some serious effort by a five strong team it follows the story of Cally Calhoun average student and above average teenage spy. Think Jason Bourne meets Totally Spies. |

| Terra is a sci-fi webcomic that has been running for around a year now and has by and large existed below the radar which is a shame because the art is superb and the writing subtle in delivering its themes of wars that cannot be won and discrimination as well as reconciliation between species. Influenced I feel by the events of the past ten years here on earth it depicts a very hawkish and two super powers fighting each other and a multi-species insurgency who just want everyone to get along. Give it a go, its great! |
|
| You may mistake Trying Human as a run of the mill and quirky comic with aliens. This is inaccurate as the comic has a pretty good stab at illustrating the complex politics that any encounter with aliens would cause amongst Humans. Now you know why the Men in Black want to keep it all a secret from you! |
|
| Valkrie Squadron is the latest and possibily greatest creation yet from artist and all round vertically challenged badass Jules Rivera. The influences run in thick and fast like a Noel Gallagher song writing session with nods to Bubblegum Crisis, Starship Troopers and even venerable real life journalist David Axe. Definitely one to keep an eye on for the next few years if you feel that you’re lacking your usual sci-fi fix. | |
| Walking the Lethe is a cracking webcomic from an American duo operating out of Holland and working with two artists on the opposite side of the globe. It is a mature webcomic featuring the supernatural, demons and slightly jaded building superintendents. Its wonderfully drawn and the writing is tense and gripping and I definitely urge you all to get on board and check it out! | |

What it takes is I think a post-apocalypse comic done right. Part The Road but with hint of hope and some black comedy it features characters who in a previous time would have been normal, mild mannered kinds of people with aspirations and dreams but have now been reduced to the very lowest levels of barbarity simply to survive. The lead character is a complex one who despite her prowess in this nightmare world looks very uncomfortable with her role. Definitely recommend it to new readers! |
